The emotional toll on students, families, and staff was profound, as the trauma of loss was compounded by the urgent need to rebuild not just a school, but a place of healing, hope, and belonging.
A New Chapter of Resilience
By late 2025, Condong Public School will reopen as a state-of-the-art, future-proof facility, rebuilt by the NSW Government. This transformative project reflects a deep commitment to the community’s recovery and resilience. The new school will stand as a beacon of hope, symbolizing the strength and determination of the Condong community to overcome adversity and thrive.
Built for Safety, Designed for Community
The rebuilt Condong Public School will prioritize safety, sustainability, and community needs. Elevated above the 1:500 flood level, the school will incorporate flood-resilient materials and adaptable spaces to minimize disruption and ensure quick recovery in the event of future challenges. The design will feature 4 modern, light-filled classrooms, a revitalized library, efficient administrative offices, and an inviting canteen—all set within beautifully landscaped grounds.
The rebuilding of Condong Public School is more than just a construction project—it’s a testament to the community’s resilience and a promise of a brighter, more secure future for generations to come.
