Project Moves to Public Exhibition After Community Consultation

Pembridge is proud to celebrate a significant milestone in the transformation of the Richmond River High Campus, as the project has now been formally lodged for public exhibition. This progress marks a leap forward for educational infrastructure in the Northern Rivers and a meaningful step in the region’s broader recovery from the devastating NSW floods.

Achieving Progress in Challenging Times

The journey towards a new campus for Richmond River Campus has been shaped by extraordinary resilience within the Lismore community. After the catastrophic flood events of 2022 rendered the previous campus unusable, the NSW Government and School Infrastructure NSW, committed to delivering a world-class, flood-resilient learning environment on a new, higher site in North Lismore.

This latest milestone is deeply significant considering the challenges faced by students, staff, and families: after a long and difficult period of temporary arrangements, uncertainty, and recovery, the vision for a safe and inspiring new school is now within reach.

Project Highlights

  • Location: North Lismore, above the maximum flood level.

  • Facilities: 36 modern classrooms, 3 support classrooms, 14 specialist learning spaces, a library, a multipurpose hall, performance spaces, sports, agriculture, food, and construction technology facilities.

  • Design Approach:

    • All learning spaces are elevated above potential flood risks.

    • Modular construction: Off-site building of major components, expediting campus delivery and minimising local disruptions.

    • Extensive landscaping.

  • Cultural Connection: Ongoing engagement with the Bundjalung community ensures local heritage and culture are integrated into the final design.

  • Timeline: Operational 2027
